Beautiful Christmas greenery like this will introduce a traditional air to your decorations while bringing a little nature indoors — all without the fading and mess of real greenery. They’ll stay bright and vibrant season after season.

This guide will help you take into consideration some of the differences in the Natural Touch Collection so you can choose the right garlands, wreaths, and swags for your home’s decorations. Let’s get started!

Understanding the Different Categories of Christmas Greenery

With more than 30 years of experience in the business, Decorator’s Warehouse brings you a colorful assortment of different Christmas greenery that can be used to introduce the beauty of nature into your decorations.

Each type of greenery can be used in a unique number of different ways, either to set the foundation or serve as a finished accent.

The Christmas garlands in our Natural Touch Garland Collection are elongated arrangements of greenery that are used to decorate linear fixtures. The items in our collection are available in different sizes and are intended to capture the lifelike details of specific species, like Norfolk Pine, Lebanon Cedar, Fir, Spruce, and Juniper.

Christmas garlands can be used with or without lights in a wide variety of ways. They can be used to decorate window frames, fences, banisters, railings, columns, pilings, fence and sign posts, mantles, and much more.

Christmas sprays and picksare smaller arrangements with a stem that can be inserted into other decorations, like centerpieces, wreaths, and Christmas trees. They are also made to capture the details of specific species of greenery and can be used to add bright bursts of green color to vases, baskets, and other elements of your decor.

Our Natural Greenery Teardrops, Bundles, and Swags are like small bundles of greenery, a little larger than most picks and sprays, but smaller than garlands. They are great for decorating lanterns, side tables, pianos, and countertops, and can be used to produce eye-catching centerpieces.

The Christmas wreaths in our Natural Touch collection also exhibit lifelike detail and can be used to add pops of color to windows, doors, walls, over fireplaces, and elsewhere in your home. Like garlands, they can be decorated with lights, ribbon, and ornaments that will align with the rest of your theme.

Regardless of what Christmas greenery you use in a setting, just like a tree, it can be decorated with lights, picks, sprays, ribbons, and Christmas ornaments to tie it in with the theme of your other decorations.

Christmas Greenery and Color Schemes

The greenery in our Natural Touch collection offers a lot of variety in coloration and is also available in iced and flocked options.

Our iced greenery showcases a light icy “frosting” that is perfect for adding some winter charm, especially if you’re cultivating a winter wonderland-style spirit for your decorations.

Our flocked collection, which looks as though it has received a light dusting of snow, with a touch of bright green poking through, is also great for this aesthetic, and can add a wintry chill to any atmosphere while preserving the warmth!

All of our greenery exhibits a diverse range of diversity with respect to shade, with light, mid-light, and darker greens in the mix that are perfect to add depth and dimension in any setting, as well as a touch of realism.

Our Natural Touch collection also features all-white “greenery,” which is perfect for interiors with white, gray, gold, and silver color-schemes, or for winter wonderland-style themes.

The diversity of our Christmas garlands, wreaths, and other greenery, in terms of color and styling, offers you ultimateflexibility with how you want to decorate your interior, and opens up a lot of doors for complimenting rustic, farmhouse, traditional, and snowy aesthetics and themes.

Choosing the Right Length of Christmas Garland

Choosing the right length of Christmas garland can be a challenge, but it’s not as tough as you might think.

If you’re decorating a mantle or shelf, a good bit of advice is to allow 2 feet of garland to hang off each side - so if you’re decorating a 6 foot mantle, you need 10 feet of garland total.

Another popular technique is to spiral garland around banisters, columns, and fence posts. For this, you’ll need 2 feet of garland for every linear foot you want to spiral the garland around. If you’re spiraling a garland around a banister that’s 10 feet long, you’ll need 20 feet of garland.

You can also allow the Christmas garland to hang down loosely and secure it at pre-measured intervals so it produces a bunting-like effect. To do so, you’ll also want about 2 feet of garland for every linear foot you need the garland to span. Make sure you secure the garland at consistent intervals or the decoration will look asymmetrical.
