Grab your notebook and pen, steaming cup of hot cocoa or coffee, and let's start dreaming and planning for one of your most unique holiday seasons yet! Here are some of the best tips and tricks to make it a fun and memorable time.
Planning a Trip to Decorator's Warehouse in Arlington, Texas
We love getting to meet all the people who come through our doors! We've had visitors stop in from all over the DFW Metroplex to places around the globe. Whether you're from down the road or across the pond, here are a few things you can do to make your visit extra special.
1. Check out our upcoming calendar of events.
We're planning some amazing events — from live demonstrations to meet and greets, we can't wait to share these special moments with you! If you find an event you'd like to attend, be sure to mark it on the calendar and make a day or weekend of it!
2. Scope out what you need from the comfort of home.
Much of our in-store collection is available online, so you can start shopping and envisioning your new looks before your actual shopping day. Be sure to check out the resources from our team of world-class designers! From tutorial videos to entertaining ideas on our blog, we have the most inspiring Christmas ideas and looks to jumpstart your holiday festivities.
Look at everything you have at home, sort through what accents you want to utilize, and start a wishlist of the new ideas you want to incorporate. Our Christmas tree recipe card gives you a straightforward way to plan out your needs for your Christmas tree. You can get a good feel for the 4-step process on the blog, to help you craft your ideal look.
Finally, measure everything, so you know what sizes of trees, garlands, wreaths, or lighting you need.
3. Choose a time that's a little less busy to come in.
We have a team of in-store designers who are very willing to help you make decisions and pull together looks — but coming mid-to-late November will probably mean limited access to them — and to the products you're looking for.
We recommend planning your shopping trip mid-week. We generally will have less crowds and will be able to devote more individual time to help you meet your Christmas decor goals!
4. Plan to bring your kids as a family, and then come shopping without them!
The magic of the store is perfect for little ones to engage with; and for many families, stopping in at Decorator's Warehouse and taking a few photos becomes a holiday tradition. But if you're looking to do some serious planning and shopping, we recommend coming solo or with a friend or two to move methodically through the store and find the items you're dreaming of. Whatever your reason for stopping in, be sure to share the magic using #DWChristmas on social!
5. Ensure your car — or suitcase — can hold what you're shopping for.
If you can't make multiple trips or you're from out of town, you may need to bring enough storage for the items that you're planning on purchasing. Our Christmas flowers and Christmas sprays have long stems, and so they can take up a bit of room. Also, glitter is part of the magic — and if you don't want to find it in you car for years, you may need to bring containers to transport the winter wonderland goods!
A common request is having some purchases shipped from the store. We are able to do so, with a few exceptions. Our custom design pieces, resin, and other over-sized items cannot be shipped, but the majority of our trim can be arranged to arrive at your home.
6. Check out some of the area's best Christmas spots and accommodations.
If you're coming to town for the holiday season, there are many wonderful places to enjoy Christmas! From the Christmas Capital of Texas (Grapevine) to local Arlington favorites, be sure to check out the Things to Do blog to help you find the best holiday experiences in our area.
Again, we can't wait to greet you and make your holiday season the most memorable yet! Happy holidays from our family to yours.
