Simple Entertaining Ideas for Fourth of July

May 25th 2021

Summer months are right upon us and Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day will be here before we know it! I love this excuse to pull out my red, white and blue decor and style a fresh and fun patriotic tablescape. There are so many flavorful and simple dishes that you can tie into your decor and leave your guests with a memorable impression.

Today we are here to help you become the hostess with the mostess by using these simple tablescape ideas and recipes!

First up, is this delicious patriotic trifle. This dish packs a big bang for your buck because not only is it tasty, it's also beautiful!

Next up is a simple, colorful salad that is the perfect blend of sweet and savory! Start with a oversized bowl like this one. You will love the playful print that works for all seasons.  Grab a package of Spinach and Arugula mix from your local grocery and top it with blueberries, strawberries, feta cheese and Voila! Pairs wonderfully with a balsamic vinaigrette or poppy seed dressing.

No patriotic celebration is complete without hot dogs and burgers! Throw some on the grill for a quick and easy main course and finish in style with this adorable star adorned tiered tray for condiments. Here I've included red and green onions, ketchup, mustard, pickles and relish. You can get very creative with toppings! This enamel Farmhouse tray is also a great addition to your red, white and blue tablescape.

You've got to have a refreshing beverage! This is my favorite treat for a hot summer day and my children adore these (so do I)! Use Gourmet Village Cocoa Packets  and mix cocoa according to package instructions. Add to blender with 2 cups of ice and blend until smooth. These are really fun to dress up! I like to line a mason jar with chocolate around the walls and top with whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry.

We all enjoy nibbling throughout the day. This red, white and blue patriotic snacking tray is perfect for grazing. Fill a container with blueberries and place in the upper left-hand corner of platter. Alternate cut strawberries and white chocolate yogurt pretzels to create the stripes of a flag.

You can't have all these colorful, fun dishes without a fitting tablescape to go with it! In addition to the table decor I decided to give a patriotic Fourth of July Christmas tree a shot! I had a blast decorating it and love the way it came together.

This farmhouse inspired tableware is great to add a true American touch.
