Christmas Ribbon

Let’s start with Christmas, our bread and butter. We offer a wide range of Christmas ribbon in different colors, styles, and themes here, all of it perfect for decorating throughout the house.

The easiest way to get started with Christmas ribbon is to shop the collection from which you got your other Christmas decorations. Pick out two or three different styles that align with the rest of your decorating style, and get started!

Adding Christmas or Seasonal Ribbon to Your Tree

Let’s begin with the tree. Christmas or other seasonal ribbon can be used in the body of the tree to fill out dark spaces by creating a billowing effect. You can also make bows from your decorative ribbon and use them to embellish the tree.

Another great way to use Christmas ribbon on the tree is to use it in your tree topper. You can make a tree topper from a bow of ribbon, or simply use some ribbon with the picks and sprays you used to create the topper itself. ‘

As a side note, we love using our 4-step decorating method for seasonal trees! From Valentine’s Day to Spring Decor, you can make the most amazing decor centerpieces for your home by switching up the decor on your traditionally-Christmas tree!

Decorative ribbon can also be used to embellish your other Christmas greenery, particularly your garlands and wreaths, in just the same manner as you used it in the tree.

On top of that, ribbon can also be used to decorate your garlands on your banisters, railings, columns, and on the other architectural elements of your home, where it will brighten dark areas by adding color and movement! We also just LOVE to use decorative ribbon to tie the theme together with your gift wrapping, to add a little color and flair!

Easter Ribbon

Spring is another great time to get creative with ribbon, and here at Decorator’s Warehouse, we offer numerous different styles of both generally spring-themed and Easter ribbon.

The same design notes work here as they do for decorating with Christmas ribbon. Pick two to three different styles of Easter or spring ribbon from the same collection where you got your other decorations and use the ribbon in your tree, wreaths, and other greenery. Have fun and go a little crazy pulling together a vision that you have for the seasonal decorations! We love how the ribbon draws the eye through this Easter tree — and the Norfolk greenery sets the stage with a fun topper, made from the Norfolk sprays and these adorable oversized carrots!

In the spring, pastel colors prevail, particularly light pinks, blues, purples, yellows and greens. We love these basket-weave plaids, the florals that pack a punch of color and texture, as well as

Don’t let summer pass you by without getting creative with summer-themed ribbon, especially red, white and blue decorative Americana ribbon that is perfect for both Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.

Halloween Ribbon

If you make a Halloween tree, or hang a Halloween-themed wreath on your front door, you can use ribbon here just as you would around Christmas time. Halloween ribbon can also be used to create centerpieces, add to wreaths and swag pieces, and to add depth and color to the rest of your decorations like lanterns and more!

Fall Ribbon: Thanksgiving

Right after Halloween, you can get creative with fall ribbon, which can also be used to spruce up your Thanksgiving decorations. We love to incorporate the traditional warm earth tones, orange, yellow, red, tan, green, and more.

Use fall ribbon in your fall and Thanksgiving-themed wreaths, you can also use it to make bows, centerpieces, and to embellish your other fall decorations.

All Seasons Success: Ways to Use Your Decorative Ribbon Plus Some Design Tips

Regardless of when you’re using decorative ribbon, here are a few tips for pulling it all together.

  • Keep the prevailing color scheme of your decorations in mind. Go with colors that reflect the rest of your theme, for instance, red and green around Christmas, orange and black around Halloween, and pastels in the spring.
  • Choose a decorative ribbon from the same collection from which you got your other decorations.
  • Learn how to produce a billowing effect with your decorative ribbon when you’re using it to fill out dark areas on a tree.
  • Use your decorative ribbon in your other greenery, not just in the tree.
  • Learn how to make a bow using ribbon; these can be used in so many different ways throughout the seasons.
  • Fishtail the cut ends of your ribbon rather than cutting them square; an angled fishtail looks much nicer than a cut end with square corners!
