Touring Kristin’s Christmas House Decor

Nov 10th 2020

Christmas has sprung into every Instagram feed and into so many homes — almost overnight it seems! As we’re spending so much more time with our families this year, it only seems appropriate to bring in our favorite Christmas cheer as early as possible — to savor the moments and soak in the memories we’re making!

We're bringing you Kristin and a few other designers' Christmas house decor ideas to help inspire you.

Home for the Holidays Christmas Tree Tour

We’ve been leaving hints of something big coming — you won’t want to miss next week! Twelve home decor influencers have partnered with Decorator’s Warehouse to bring you gorgeous Christmas tree looks from around the country. From rustic and woodland themes to regal plaid and whimsical pastels, there’s something for every imagination.

Stay tuned on social media for sneak peeks as they’re coming in!

As we’re anticipating next week’s Christmas challenge, I’m excited to show you our home today. Here’s how we're celebrating the season with looks for the living room, kitchen, dining room, daughter’s room, the playroom, and office!

Decorating the entire house may be a lot of work, but in the end, having your home transformed for Christmas makes the entire family experience the magic in a truly unique way. If you’re wanting to grow your Christmas decorations, we recommend writing down a plan of which rooms to tackle first and building your collection over the course of a few years.

Let’s start with the heart of our home — the living room!

Living Room Christmas Decor

I took a little detour from my typical cozy green and brown woodland theme with birch accents, to bring you some of my favorite new looks both in-store and online! This flocked tree has all the texture and nostalgia of walking through a snow-filled forest. The jingle bellsbirch, and bursts of red bring my normally neutral room to life.

Design Tip: Save a few delivery boxes and wrap them with neutral paper and ribbon that you can use for years until the real packages arrive! It gives you that complete look without having to wrap the presents before Christmas Eve!

When you’ve created a central space for your decor, you only need to add accents in a few places — like berries to a milk jug or a coordinating tray display for the coffee table. Add a few red check pillows to the couch, and you’ve got color in the places you need it most.

A Kitchen Set for Christmas Cooking

Most Christmas lovers spend a bit of their time in the kitchen — why not add some tasteful elements to help you get in the mood for all the cooking you’ll be doing? While whipping up Christmas morning breakfast and humming the First Noel, you’ll enjoy your special touches and visual reminders of what makes the holiday season so special.

I chose to bring in coordinating wreaths, a cute Christmas Trees sign, and my first ever island Christmas tree. This 5-foot flocked kitchen tree adds balance and warmth to center of our home! It has two of my favorite ribbons, the mini-check and the linen dot.

A Dining Room That Delights

Birch accents just bring that touch of woodsy realism to a Christmas set, and I love weaving this theme throughout the main living space. This tree is a play on the living room look, but has a muted, more relaxed and whimsical woodland vibe.

This galvanized lantern brings a simple but functional accent that can be added to a table or a fireplace! It's safe for little fingers with a battery operated candle.

The Magic of Childhood

There’s nothing better than a child’s face on Christmas morning — but putting your sweet ones to sleep by the light of a Christmas tree keeps the magic going for a month straight! This fun and chic pastel tree is full of a girl’s favorite thing, unicorns, ice cream, cupcakes, and flowers.

We love our little wood nativity set — it's perfect for play with and loving all Christmas season!

Playtime Reimagined

When Santa’s workshop goes a little bonkers with all the toy requests coming in, the elves can’t help but jump into the closest tree to take their next candy cane break. I don’t know about you, but this tree reminds me of all the best parts of the crazy Christmas season!
