Creating a Unique Christmas Tree to Inspire

Nov 18th 2020

The holiday season holds such power in 2020.

We are resting our hopes, our aspirations for the future, and our desire to move past this year, on this special season. We're all remembering that no matter what comes into our lives, Christmas brings us together. And that whatever may come in the future, home is where we long to be.

We hope that you're able to enjoy the decorating season with your family and create something special for your loved ones.

Throughout this Christmas tree challenge, we've loved all the unique  Christmas tree looks and the variations with Decorator's Warehouse's items. From Rustic to Glam, we've seen an array of colorful and neutral trees, but today we're focusing on the unique trees that take us back, in a fun and special way.

When you’re coming up with your holiday decorations, don’t be afraid to try something new or unexpected! The best inspirations come when the content is created from the heart.

A Unique Christmas Tree to Inspire

When you’re looking to bring a unique and whimsical Christmas look, color is everything. From pastel and the perfectly unexpected to jeweled tones or minimalistic charm, there’s a variety of ways to bring in whimsical elements to your Christmas decor. Here are three of our decorators from Home for the Holidays Christmas Tree Challenge and their takes on a unique and whimsical vibe!

Pink Christmas Tree For Days

Lindsey from  Live Sweet lives, dreams, writes, and creates in pastels. So we were not surprised when she decided to bring a gorgeous pink and mint number to the scene! She chose large poinsettias, our giant candies and baked goods, and gumball-esque oversized ornaments! This tree truly looks like a confectioner’s vision that would make any child (or little pet pig’s) heart happy.

The items found in this playful pastel design can be found here.

A Most Colorful Christmas

Megan from  Megan Martin Creative gave us a unique jeweled-tone palette to work with, and this fiery and fun tree gives us all the vintage vibes. You can almost hear “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” cracking on a radio somewhere. To be fair, her flair for design and color is evident across her brand — and we love that this tree is an extension of her vivacious personality!

This bright and colorful trim can be found here.

Red and White Whimsy

Brooke from  Start at Home took the traditional Red and White Christmas dream, picked a bit of every design style, and poured into this magnificent ten-foot-tall tree.

The plaid brings some farmhouse cheer while the jingle bells and textured ornaments throw a nod at the rustic. The sparkle-crusted red and white poinsettias, coupled with the other shimmering accents, brought in the glam. By the time you see the stunning topper, filled with berry sprays, you’ve realized this is one of the most perfectly balanced Christmas tree looks, dressed to impress from head to toe.
