How to Put Ribbon on Christmas Tree
We generally recommend using 2- 3 coordinating designs and layer them through the body of the tree. Place your bold patterned or embellished ribbon on top and a repeating pattern (plaid, dots, solid, or textured ribbon) on the back. Choose another style to use as accent bows throughout — look for something that supports the design of the tree. Often a pattern or a plaid works well for the secondary ribbon.
How much ribbon do I need for my Christmas tree?
The worst thing is getting into your tree decorating day and realizing you don’t have enough ribbon to cover the entire tree! To avoid this, here are our recommendations based on tree size:
- 7.5' tree = Two to three 10-yard rolls through the body + 1 roll for accent
- 9' tree = Three to four 10-yard rolls +1-2 rolls for accent
- 10' tree = Four to five rolls + 2 rolls for accent
- 12' tree = Five to six rolls + 2-3 rolls for accent
