Red White and Blue Decorations to Inspire!

May 22nd 2025

Summer gatherings by the pool, backyard BBQs, and all things red white and blue decor! Whether you're decorating your porch, mantle, or even styling an American-themed Christmas tree, choosing the right patriotic decorations helps set the tone for a warm, welcoming space that honors the spirit of the season.

Kristin, our in-house designer, is sharing her favorite ways to bring a touch of Americana decor into your home using wreaths, ribbons, signs, and more—so you can create a patriotic display that feels both timeless and unique.

Start with a Color Palette: Red, White & Blue Decor with Style

The foundation of great 4th of July decor starts with a classic red, white, and blue color scheme—but that doesn’t mean it has to feel expected. For a more elevated or vintage look, lean into Americana decor tones: think baby blues, warm ivory whites, and rich barn reds.

This is where patriotic ribbon really shines. Use wired ribbon to create bows for wreaths, to thread through garlands, or to accent on planters. Don’t be afraid to mix in patterns like stars, stripes, or rustic plaids for extra personality!

Choose the Perfect American Flag Wreath

Your front door is the first impression—make it count with an eye-catching American flag wreath or a greenery based wreath with popping Americana ribbon designs! Our collection of patriotic wreaths includes everything from flag-inspired designs to floral red, white and blue looks that will work well all summer long. You can even hang a second wreath indoors over a mirror or above a fireplace for that extra spark!

Patriotic Signs That Bring Magic

Signs are one of the easiest ways to add themed touches to any space. Look for patriotic signs that include classic sayings like “Land of the Free” or “God Bless America,” or go for modern farmhouse typography for a layered look.

These gorgeous signs work beautifully on mantels, porch walls, and tiered trays. Pair them with miniature flags, candles, or even small fabric bunting for a warm, lived-in look that feels both intentional and completely festive.

Create an American-Themed Christmas Tree (Yes, Really!)

One of Kristin’s signature seasonal ideas is a festive tree decked out in 4th of July decor.

“We love thinking outside the box,” she says. “A red, white, and blue tree is such a fun conversation starter—and a great way to use a few Christmas elements in a super playful way.”

Use patriotic ribbon, star ornaments, berry and sparkler-looking picks, and small to medium signs to build out your American-themed Christmas tree. It’s perfect for a sunroom, porch, or even your living room as part of a bigger holiday display.

Add twinkle starburst lights in the topper and the body of the tree to mimic the sparkle of fireworks—it’s unexpected, fun, and totally festive.

Layer Your 4th of July Decor Indoors & Out

Once you’ve chosen your focal pieces—like a patriotic wreath and a few key signs—layer in coordinating elements to unify your look. Pro tip: many of these patriotic decor pieces can be used from Memorial Day through Veterans Day, making them smart investments for any patriotic-themes for your summertime home.
